Blooming saffrons in the mountains

Those Faces

A poem by Tyler Golec

The men and women standing

Stalwart and watching

Posted erect in soggy soil

Holding the line in the defrosting earth

Beautiful faces hoping

To catch the warmth of a yawning spring

Forever youthful, glowing

These faces have dreams to sing

I wonder where they’re going

Holding for something during nights

At the height of winters chill, blowing

Oh the cold, oh the horrid sights

I wonder where they’re going

Those faces have dreams to sing
